Transformers 2 (Okay, spoilers now. invisible ones)

Postby The Phantom » Fri Jun 26, 2009 10:05 am

Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen. I've seen it yesterday, and this is basicly what I think: Very good special effects/action, humour so pathetic that I simply cannot think of a comparison that would make it look even worse.

Did anyone see it? Or didn't and is planning to?

Saw it the day it was released and though it was one of the best films I've ever seen, it had a great story superb special effects and fight scenes, alot of good action and to top it of some rather funny moments.

I will say that if you haven't seen it then its a must you wont be dissapointed.

I must agree with the special effects and the action. This movie is a very good suggestion if you need to work your way through a large amount of popcorn and soda. However... Story? What story? :chin:

However, we went to the movie expecting just that, and we had a blast! :rockin:
With kind regards, Mathijs

Alright, spoiler time

The story, full:
In a short prologue narrated by Optimus Prime, primitive human beings in the year 17,000 BC hunt a tiger, only to be interrupted by the appearance of The Fallen. In the background, more Transformers are seen constructing a gigantic device.

Two years after the events of Transformers, the Autobots have joined forces with British and American military to form NEST, combating Decepticons hiding out on Earth. Optimus leads NEST into Shanghai to eliminate Decepticons Demolishor and Sideways. Joined by newcomers Arcee, Sideswipe, Jolt and the twins Skids and Mudflap, Sideways is destroyed, and Optimus and Ironhide down Demolishor, but not before the Decepticon utters The Fallen will "rise again". In space, Soundwave hacks into a satellite and discovers the location of Megatron's body and the location of a shard of the AllSpark. Soundwave deploys his minion Ravage to retrieve it, while Long Haul, Rampage and Mixmaster set out to revive Megatron from the bottom of the Laurentian Abyss. Using the AllSpark shard and parts from a Decepticon sacrificed on the spot, Megatron is resuscitated, and he flies to a Decepticon battleship on Mars, reunited with Starscream and his master The Fallen.

As Sam Witwicky prepares to enter college, he finds another shard of the AllSpark filling his mind with ancient Cybertronian text upon contact. After the shard sets various appliances to life, Sam entrusts the fragment to his girlfriend Mikaela Banes. Decepticon Wheelie attempts to steal it, but Mikaela captures him. At college, Sam meets his roommate Leo Spitz, who runs an alien conspiracy website, and a girl named Alice makes disturbing advances on Sam. Following a campus party, Bumblebee retrieves Sam to meet with Optimus, who requests his help, but Sam claims he only wishes a normal life. Unfortunately, his outbreaks with Cybertronian text continue, thus he calls Mikaela to come to his aid. Alice, revealed to be a Decepticon Pretender, attacks. Along with Leo, Sam and Mikaela escape campus grounds, but not before Grindor seizes them for Megatron.

Just before The Doctor prepares to dissect Sam's brain to get information on the location of a new energon signal, Optimus and Bumblebee arrive to assist Sam. Unfortunately, Optimus is impaled by Megatron and enters stasis lock in a near death state. The rest of the Autobots arrive and fend off the Decepticons, while Sam is evacuated by Bumblebee and the twins. As more Decepticons invade the planet, The Fallen broadcasts himself to the world demanding Sam be surrendered. Fearing national security, NEST is shut down and Sam's parents are captured by the Decepticons in Paris. In a remote location, Leo suggests seeking help from his website rival "RoboWarrior", none other than former Sector Seven Agent Seymour Simmons. He reveals his archive of alien research that explains the history of Transformers on Earth. The captured Wheelie states the language Sam sees is of the Dynasty of Primes, but only a Seeker can translate the Cybertronian text. Wheelie leads the group to the location of Jetfire, and after getting updated on the situation, he uses a space bridge to teleport the group to Egypt.

Jetfire a former Decepticon, explains the Primes used stars to power the AllSpark by using machines called Sun Harvesters, with the Matrix of Leadership as a key. The Primes, however, maintained the Sun Harvester cannot be used in a star system with lifeforms, but The Fallen rebelled, and ignited the war for the AllSpark. The other Primes defeated The Fallen and sacrificed themselves to seal away the Matrix in a tomb hidden somewhere in the desert. Through clues, the Matrix is found in Petra but it crumbles to dust in Sam's hands. Nevertheless, he piles the dust into his sock. Simmons contacts Major William Lennox and his troops, requesting the Autobots and Optimus' body, a Prime being the only one capable of destroying The Fallen. Lennox's team arrives but so do the Decepticons. Leo, Simmons and the twins face off against Devastator, who scales a pyramid to uncover the Sun Harvester. Fortunately, Lennox's superiors learn where the team has gone and orders a full scale operation to support Lennox and the Autobots.

Bumblebee rescues Sam's parents, however, Sam is caught in the attack and is severely injured by Megatron, entering clinical death. In this state, Sam has a vision of the Dynasty of Primes, who revive him for his bravery and courage to protect their lineage in Optimus. He reawakens just as the Matrix regenerates, and uses it to revive Optimus. Sadly, The Fallen travels through a space bridge and takes the Matrix to activate the Sun Harvester. Although Jetfire is wounded, he gives up his own spark and parts to Optimus, who uses his new strength to destroy the Sun Harvester and kill The Fallen. Megatron and Starscream make a tactical retreat, claiming their war with the Autobots is not over.

Story, stripped of all it's useless aspects:
Megatron ressurected. Tries to find key with superior ('The Fallen') for a big death machine. Main character has that key. Optimus dies, optimus gets ressurected with key. Bad guys get key and activate doom machine. Optimus Prime saves the day.
Oh and Bumblebee and Starscream are in it too.

There was no after credit scene in the version we saw. Also the plotoutline from Phantom is pretty accurate... the last bit that is
