Captain Andriy Shevchenko, 36 and on the verge of turning 37, scores a brace for his country, IN his country. Amazing!

And now Gomez seems to want to singlehandedly win the league for Kril.... :D

I think the Germans will win this tournament.

100% record, hungry team, fantastic blend of creativity and organization. Good stuff.

Not so sure about that yet. On one hand, they crunched through the group of death undefeated. On the other hand, Spain's group might as well have handed them a bye into the quarterfinals. Depending on how the brackets look in the playoffs, we could have a fairly-rested Spain against an exhausted Germany. Playing hard every 3-4 days takes a toll on you.

Plus let's face it: Germany has a great record of bottling it at the last second.

I think Germany does take it, honestly. But, I don't want to rule out Spain or, of all teams, Greece. They're not the Greece of 2004 by any means, but they're better than I think people give them credit for being.

Germany's style of play is really refreshing to watch, by the way, after EPL. I don't know why, but the way they go about things at the mid to front transitions, the attacking play, just looks different. I'm not even sure what I'm looking at that is making me think that, but I really feel like I'm watching a completely different type of football with them. Maybe it's the amount of creative ground-play instead of the "cross-to-big-guy" routine that the PL is so fond of?

Style of play is definitely very different in the Bundesliga vs the Premier League.

Quite honestly, the English leagues are more physically demanding, but less technique based than the majority of the decent European leagues. English football is kinda stuck in the 70s while everyone else has moved on.

It's part of the reason why we won't win a World Cup or European Championship anytime soon.

That's not to say that the football isn't good to watch, but there isn't a group of English internationals alive (past or present) who could play like the Spanish or the Germans do. Sad, really.

We just have thugs, like John Terry.

France to beat Sweden.

England get spanked by Ukraine, Rooney red card, Shevchenko brace.

Shevchenko isn't starting so I think we can rule that one out.

Roonpig proving me wrong so far.

Good job I captained him (my earlier captains didn't produce so I rotated it through the days...).

I'm getting totally waxed this week.

I rotated my captain off Dzagoev (4 pts) to Gomez (10 pts) to finally flipping coin between Ibrahimovic/Ribery.
Went Ribery — cost myself six points. (Da Kril: Always creating new ways to cost himself points...)
Stoopit frogs.

Also, learn from Kril's stupidity and save yourself points!
Before you take advantage of manually subbing players during the gameweek,
make damn sure you're not exposed to any no-shows. = fail
Once you've benched someone, they score zero — you can't put them back.

First week, I replaced two doodz that scored 3 and 2 pts, hoping the replacements might do better (or at least the same)...
then got surprise butt secks when both replacement doodz played zero minutes. Net cost: – 5 pts

_______

Wow, that botched goal call for Ukraine (terrible miss by ref) wouldn't actually have changed much, had it been given.
France and Ukraine would've been tied, but France would still have gone through with 0 goal diff vs. Ukraine's -1 goal diff.

Hoping I can put together a team with less suckage with the extra €5 mil and unlimited transfers,*
--kril out-- :horror:

* but probably not

You and me both, buddy. I've had Evra in on the last day for two straight weeks now.

My new team looks amazing, and by amazing I mean absolutely stupid. It'll probably score me an awful lot of points since I think it sucks. :D

Calling a greek upset right now. 4 greeks, going on in! :skull:

(NO of course I'm not serious, are you MAD?)

Hey Nihilist? You know what's awesome?

Me not realizing we got a free wild-card for the quarterfinals, and thus taking a 3-pt hit this week... and thus being 3 points behind you! :D

Why does this sound so familiar?
