These headlines are all pants...

Police Bust Party in Man's Pants
800 ecstasy pills and a few good whacks from a police baton...

From the "Typically Canadian" Dept.:
Man Jailed After Asking Women to Kick Him in the Crotch
my favorite bit:
"...he approached women on trails in city parks and asked them to kick him in the groin.
One of the women, afraid of what he might do if she refused, kicked him repeatedly."

Well done, ma'am!

And last but NOT least:
Captain America Arrested with Burrito in Pants

You've gotta be kidding...

I thought he had a shield? :?

All these remind me of my favorite Fiver epithet, when it referred to Freddie Ljungberg as "pants model and increasingly pants footballer."

Teaching dating violence as required by new state law

...this from a school district's newsletter, which is mailed to all parents in the community.
...a newsletter on which I am currently working.

I will try to convince them their word-choice is... poor.

This one I don't find particularly amusing - but stupid.
on CNN today ...

"China's giant pandas survive earthquake"

How nice for them.

At least 34,000 actual people are dead and whole areas devastated – but the freakin' pandas are somehow newsworthy.
I guess a lot of the pandas must have had the day off from work when the buildings collapsed down on top of the people in them.

A month or so ago, CNN started selling their most "amusing" headlines as instant-order T-shirts (designated by a little T-shirt icon next to the headline -- very professional journalism). Since then, they haven't written one that I thought was remotely funny. :?
