It will take some time to get this working, for now you can use the <tab> (tabular) key to jump to the next field,
which makes it quite fast to enter all "M"s in the row.
(once you have setup the initial filling, this feature will become quite obsolete, as ppl will progress next into HM)

@Sphinx: can you supply me details what you tried on 'Styles' page, because every entry should usable,
it's important this works good, as it's the page where you set which results you want to use.

@Spim: a '0' isn't a problem but two or more of the same seqence numbers are. I will have to fix that(somehow :P )

@All :
I have to make sure the current features are working as they suppose to work (like the problem Spim & Sphinx have)
We can gather all 'wishes' and 'nice to haves' and put them into vote for usefullness.

Is there a way to look at other people's list so that we know who needs help where in case we are doing that particular mission?

well .. if it could be implemented (and if Lambik graciously wants to add it), I would also put my 2¢ for them to be public ... and that the default would be public .. but the person would have an option for private if they wished

since it's a game, I can't actually imagine a reason why anyone would object - but nice to have the option I suppose.

perhaps also the ability to run a Search/Query for stuff like .... "Who else needs Abbadon's Mouth?"
but that's probably just making more work for Lambik
just thinking out loud ...

Haven't heard other thing which don't function properly, so I started thinking about some requests that have been made.
Spim wrote:since it's a game, I can't actually imagine a reason why anyone would object
I can .. it means work for me :lmao: . . I know that's not a valid excuse :)

Now don't start laughing . . but I have been thinking (yes Lambik thinking, now stop laughing and read on). .
. . about this Search/Query and also view other ppl's Toons, and what comes to mind is . . .
- do we want to see all the toons in the database (this will create quite a list, and will not realy be clear)
- do we want to select a Member and view only that members toons(this will require to select over and over until you know what mission can be done)

Who wrote:"Who else needs Abbadon's Mouth?"

This one will be a wee bit more complicated, as everyone is able to use their own result types, although most ppl will be using '0' as nothing done with it.
Appart from Prophesies, GW requires to have the previous mission done, which would mean (in the above case)
that any one with something else then '0' for Ring of Fire (Wanted_Mission - 1) would qualify for the "Who else needs Abbadon's Mouth?".
The trouble comes with the starter Island Missions, and 'Foreign' toons don't require to do them first.
To resolve that, I was thinking to only show members/toons which have
. . . . . . . { '0' in the wanted_mission }
. . . . and { have '0' or something in the missionbefore }
. . . . and { have atleast something in the mission_before_before }
This results in utmost showing 3 missions, this will give the user an indication how many members have missions closeby.

or . .
:cheerleader: :cheerleader: Select 7 members(for max party size) then press search, and the tool will show you which missions qualify for the group :cheerleader: :cheerleader:
and guess what . . that's not gonna happen :twisted: my twisted sick little brain cannot coop with such a nice program :tease:

Is showing 2 missions before the 'wanted_mission' a good enough solution ? (not sure how to present it :( )
are there other things to consider for working out this "view other member" / "search other members for a mission" ?

You know what Lambik? I just love you computer experts to bits :f-grouphug: If there's a difficult way to do things, only you guys with brains can do it. :bow3:

Me? I'm a total fluffy head, and just can't see the problem with logging into Guild Wars and typing 'Anyone up for Fort Ranik?' :lol: Looking at the data base to find out if anyone needs a particular mission has one or two draw-backs 1) it pre-supposes the data base has been filled in, 2) that it's up to date, and 3) and whether or not the char needing the mission is in favour or not! (Spinksy, for instance, never plays his dervish or paragon, having this total aversion to men in skirts - Scotsmen being the exception, I hasten to add!)

The data base is great as it stands, Lambik - you've done a fantastic job, now just leave it alone and get back into the game. :whipping:

PS: I have no problem with anyone looking my mission progress if they want to. :P

UPDATE :

:yellowallien: Just finished the Search/View tab on the MisisonDb :pinkalien:

By default every user has enabled 'allow public view',
which means every one can view each others misison results.

On the 'STYLES' tab you can disable the 'allow public view', uncheck it and press <update> at the bottom of the page.
Additional when disabled the 'friends' list becomes active, so you can select a limited number of 'friends' that are allowed to view your mission results.
(every one who's registered at this forum, can also use the missiondb, I don't think it will be ever a problem, but just in case)

Search Tab:
Two sub tabs apear on the search tab => view & search
When you have selected a member and pressed 'View Friend', you will see a simular view as on your own mission list.
(except when ppl have not entered any character)
When done viewing, just press the main 'Search' tab and select either an other member, or goto the 'Search Friend' tab.
Simular action for the 'Search Friend' tab.
Downside of the search feature is, that it only works on ppl who have not changed the result types (like '0', 'O', 'S', 'E')
as these are known as still 'open'.

I hope it's useful,

Lambik

Lambik - is there any chance you can move this thread to the top of the list, or sticky it so it stays at the top? :D

The missiondb is updated with some color templates for the main 'Look'.
To explain a bit on how it works and what goes where click the url below.

There are 3 ways to change the colors:
- "Update Styles" manualy (pick colors, or type the numbers)
- use "Preset" colors (this only apply to the main site colors, not the mission result colors)
- "Reset to Default Style" (this will reset all colors to default, including removal of customly added mission results)
