Black Ops
Anyone bothering with this for the pc?
And does anyone know how the online server side is going to work on this/ or possibly not work.
I do enjoy playing COD4 with FnG each week, although the maps are getting a bit too old and ingrained.
It would be so nice to have a new game/ new maps to play with folks.

Re: Black ops
Hey Hanno,
Yeah Ill have this for the pc and xbox...im pretty sure the xbox version will die off pretty quickly as they dont have dedi severs.
Online your spoilt for choice in this version,... you can play online on your favorite FnG server [which no doubt I'll probably donate to FnG] or you can join up with your FnG buddies and play a little Combat Training in which you can enjoy some bot killing until you feel talented enough to enter the fray
Thats not the end of things though...treyarch have really thought things through this time [no doubt trying to show infinity ward the error of their ways] and have introduced a gambling perspective to the game in which you wager points against other players with the top 3 [IIRC]taking the spoils to buy shiny things
My cup runneth over

Re: Black ops
I may actually buy this one if my fellow FnG comrads get it looks good and heard good things about it so far.
Might wait till santa brings it or get it sooner if I hear more good reviews about it.

Re: Black ops
I'm quite liking the looks of it, but the cheapest I can find it is £34.91 with amazon at the moment.
I might leave it a few weeks, and see if the price drops sub £30 because I'm cheap.
Seriously I just hate paying these prices when normally they do drop quite quickly.

Hahaha...Yeah but the servers are populated by whiny 12 year olds who are much better than me

However, no point in debating the point as Im buying both in 11 hours time but I know which version will get the most hours clocked up over time.
Cant believe your not getting this until xmas...it'll all be over bar the 12 year olds by then

*Edit* Deletes first remark about Bawsy liking to beat 12 year olds.
*Edit* Deletes 2nd remark *&&***
*Edit* Deletes 3rd remark about 12year olds should be barred
*Edit* Deletes 4th deletes 2nd remark about deleting first remark

Re: Black ops
So did you get this to work on the PC?
Critic reviews are coming out as good but user reviews for the PC suggest bugs/lag

Re: Black ops
There seems to be just 1 GSP who is allowed to host the servers
(Gameservers.com is the Game Server Provider)
All to possible cheats and hacks which would be less in this construction
Prices are not that extreme.
There will be public servers from Treyarch too.
Still in doubt about buying the game

Re: Black Ops
I'm very tempted to buy this game
but
I'm not a big fan of pug servers far too many cheats and far too many people crying out cheats when theres a better player about.
If the majority of FnG are going to buy it then I'll follow suite and get it as well but as for now £35 for a single player game just doesn't do it for me.
Plus my games to finish pile isn't getting any smaller yet.

I'd definately wait a couple or 4 weeks though for the patch (pc lag spikes getting reported) and hopefully price might be a bit lower by then as well.
