UT2004 installed a while ago.

Successfully back up to getting pwned by the bots on Kindergarden ... so, back to where I was.

Just need to get install TS and dig through boxes to find my headset, which I haven't used or even seen in years.

Wow, just what the heck have I been doing?

If spim's in, I'm in. Do you want a server in NA? Or can you take the 250 ping to Germany?

Ohai. This thread is relevant to my interests.

Mumble is a pretty good voicechat option, btw...hosting is cheaper than alternatives and it has some nice features.
Have you blamed Kril lately?

I will try to find my CDs and get it running again, I'm usually busy Saturday nights so I might be late if I'm able to show up. But hopefully shootin' 'em!!

I didn't read through the whole thread but will there be a way to get maps ahead of time?

Cool - Malvos, maybe, too! Long time no see!

Maybe I've gotten even lazier and am just looking for an excuse not to bring up a NA server, but I think we'll be fine connecting to the [FnG] Germany server. I've hopped on and played with bots a couple times, and my ping has been about 150. Not ideal, but who among us, after all these years, is going to notice?

Correct me if you're that guy who will be annoyed by a tenth of a second lag.

If we use the euro server, then all the maps and links should be on the forums here. I'll post a link momentarily.

-----

Update: I can't easily find the old sticky post that had a bunch of links to map packs, etc. Tonight I'll start one from scratch. We don't have to go too crazy - I remember what we liked. I'll limit the scope to DM (for TAM of course) and ONS maps, and a few small but essential mods (ONS map radar, TAM, Excessive Overkill). Malvos, I probably can dig up a link to your Gargoyle model, too.

Most small things (UTVote) should come down from redirect without too much pain, too.

Yeah, long time no see. The gargoyle was one thing I was worried about not being able to find! I've been looking for an excuse to try hooking my system up to my 60" TV, maybe this is it...

If playing on the Germany server, everything should download off the redirect server when you join or start a new map pretty dang fast — you could have nothing but the game installed and updated and be good to go. fyi

My old NA Server #2 Journal is here.
The main old UT2004 new maps thread is here.
And Oblivious' "Ultimate Map List" thread is here, though I'm guessing a WHOLE LOT of those links are bad now.
And the venerable old NA Thursday Night Onslaught thread has some map talk.

I suppose we can begin on the Germany server and if it's too laggy for folks, we could do a pub raid.
(I may be assuming too much, that there are still UT2004 servers running, though.)

hope that helps,

My only worry was the speed of the redirect. Glad to hear it's still lickety-split. And yes, at least some (more like most) of the old modding sites seem to have gone offline, so redirect is going to be THE place to get the files.

And I'm sorry to say that every gargoyle model link I could find has gone dead. However - GOOD NEWS, EVERYONE! - all the old Beyond Unreal files are still up on Game Front. You just need to poke around a little to find things. It's organized by whatever organizational method the sys admins at Beyond Unreal used.

(I'm not having any luck seeing ANY files on that site, though. Could be just timing out. Anyone else having any luck?)

Also, a couple of years ago I had briefly brought up an "NA#5" server with most of what was on NA#2 - and I have a snapshot of that. Let me know if there's something you're looking for, and I can drop files somewhere for manual install.

I was able to find the gargoyle model on filefront. I'm on my phone now but I can post the link later.

Guys, I'm gonna cancel. Where are changing to summer time today it seems. That with some other things makes it a bit too much for me trying to stay up this late and join for a few games sadly enough.
Though i hope there will be some others in the future that i can join. Anyway, I hope you'll all have fun during this nice event.

I'm there. It's a bit laggy, but ok since I can't really shoot hit-scan any more.

Just me so far.
