I'm being delayed by (a) work, (b) roast taking longer than expected to get up to swine-eating temperature, and (c) son overstaying his welcome at his girlfriend's parents' house.

I'll be there. Just a little late. Just like the good old days.

Coincidentally, first time in 6 months, my fiancée has a weekend product launch and needs the bandwidth for now.

And I was beatin the heck out of the bots' knuckles with my face.

Hope she finishes and I can get back on.

Well, THAT brought back some memories. Wow!

Got to see Spim, Torgo and Malvos and a couple unknown Euro visitors.
Got punished by Spim and Malvos pretty hard.

DM-Campground again, woot. And Killbilly Barn. YaaaaHOoooo.
What a great game UT2K4 was. No comparison.

Hopefully we can do this again sometime, maybe with a one-month server brought up in the U.S.
(Torgo was on call too, so boo.)

Good games everyone,
--kril out-- :partyhat:

p.s. we missed you Nimrod.

Yes, good times. It was unsatisfactory for me to be bopping in and out as I was. Sorry about that.

The couple of maps I did play on we're a hoot, though. A few glimmers of the best gaming experience of my life, with some of the best people. I'd love to do it again, and would be glad to foot the bill to keep a localish server up for a couple of months. I have the files for a quick FTP.

Damn it. Forgot all about this!! :(

Who were the euro guys? Marco? Bufty? Mez? Oz?

What time did you end up playing? If it was 3am GMT, then I probably wouldn't have made it anyway. Computer is now upstairs besides the kids bedrooms, and I'm sure the clicking keys & cursing wouldn't have gone down well!

Yeah, it would have been about 3AM CET, 2AM UK time.

To my recollection, the only Euro folks were pubbers. They had the 30-40 pings, we have 120-160, so things did not go well for us.

I'd love to do this again sometime when I'm not on call. I'm almost always tied up with family matters on Sat/Sun afternoons, too, but that would in general be a better time for us to meet across the pond: Your evening, our afternoon.

I could still be talked into putting up the few bucks for a small server somewhere in central US - Kril suggested St. Louis (which I just found out from a very reputable source was named for Louis C.K.) for a perhaps equitable ping, at least between the Great Lakes people and the Texas people. As long as bidnesses like Gameservers keep installing UT2k4.

Wow I can't believe I missed out on this. I'd definitely chip in for a server to be able to play with you all.

Btw Epic is revealing the "future of UT" on the 8th and first thing I thought about was you all.

It was indeed a lot of fun (when I was able to be online that night).

Hope we can do it again some time soon, whether on own server or whatever.
Wether whole night or just a couple of hours. All good.

I remain...

Yakkin' for a smackin'.
Yearnin' for a burnin'.
Waitin' for a pastin'.
and...
Itchin' for a . . . uh . . . somethin'.

Hey all, good to see some folks still kicking around. Haven't really gamed much at all in the past year or two, other than a bit of GW2 and Planetside 2, marriage and creating a tiny human late last year have somehow rearranged my priorities a tad...

But managed to find my UT disks when cleaning the condo in prep to sell, and just installed on my newish rig tonight, so hopefully when the next meet comes I can jump in. Should be easier too, since we are moving into a house in a few weeks, so will have my own office space, so hopefully a bit more free to play. Lol, hopped on a server with a bot and man it's been awhile...wish I could have kept my old user.ini file!

Anyway, I'll try to take a peek in here more often and hopefully catch the next date.

Awesome sauce! Glad to see folks popping back around to check the forums again.

EP calls for another UT night, so how about I toss June 20 out for a date? That gives us 3 weeks to spread the word ...

And toward that end, I picked up a 10-man private server. Check out my sig. I'll be loading this puppy up over the next couple of days.

St. Louis. Nice and centrally-located. Although I was tempted to put it in Chicago .... but NAH.

June 20 ?!?!? Be there or be square?
