I've got high hopes for this one!

I think they should model it around the UT2k4 physics / gameplay and maybe have some sort of unlock skill tree - like the directional button combo skills you had in 2004

It's just some artwork so it will be a long way of before we will see any "real" footage, but it's a start.

I like the style in some of those, anyway lets see how it turns out :)
I must say lots of info on such short timespan since they announced this.

I noticed this, somehow it doesn't quite appeal yet :-)

I clicked the video link and only meant to watch a couple minutes of it —
but I wound up watching the first full game!

Once I saw it was Fatal1ty playing and the old announcer awards started... wow.
(killing spree! rampage! unstoppable! godlike!)

His play reminded me of all the moves and tactics I read about, tried to do, but never mastered.

As you say, Rampy, it felt very good.

Hopefully the textured, optimized version of whenever will win us over.

Call me cynical, but from what I've seen they are just porting UT3 to the UE4 engine, while pretending to develop it from scratch. And, to me, "Free to play" means "Bleed you dry"!

But my addiction demands that I try it anyway. :)

Many of us have been waiting for 10 years for a decent twitch arena FPS, to replace UT2004, and now 3 come along at once; UT4, Toxikk, and CliffyB's latest, "Project BlueStreak":

Cynical. Head over to the official UT dev forums, and see it all unfolding. It may look like ut3 right now as they are using ut3 assets as placeholders, but it is being designed from scratch.

Unfortunately, I am without PC for the current time, so can't try it. Can't even play ut2004. *sobs*

Keeping a somewhat close eye on the new UT developments, and just saw that an official pre-alpha build is available. I think I'm going to give it a try one of these days.

When there's a dedicated server available, and Gameservers decides to build servers, I think I'll spring for one. Hopefully one of these days....
