New wheels!

Postby [FnG] Malvos » Thu Jul 22, 2010 4:49 pm

Not sure if this belongs here or not but it's got a lot of tech in it so...here are my new wheels, set to be delivered early next week (I hope).

The Mitsubishi Lancer GTS.

Couldn't convince the wife on the manual transmission, but the CVT comes with a sport mode with paddle shifters for a little more control on more...aggressive...launches.

Wow that does look very sharp. I've always been partial to the Mitsubishi brand myself ever since I first rented one for a business trip and fell in love.

Congrats. Update us when it arrives!

Will do, I signed the papers two weeks ago so I'm getting a little antsy for it. It's also my first new car, so I'm looking forward to not having to put tons of money into maintenance for quite a few years. Time to finally trade in the '97 Accord, it saw me through university and beyond but all the systems are starting to go, the dash looks like a Christmas tree with any combination of 5 warning lights lighting up at any given time. Having both the ABS and airbag systems in question doesn't do a whole lot for your peace of mind, especially in the winter.

That reminds me of an old Chrysler I used to have, that absolutely forced you to choose between using the windshield wipers, heat, and radio. I'm not even sure how those three systems even connect, but like the Highlander, there could be only one. Needless to say, driving the Winters in Ohio was a real adventure.

I guess the Lancer EVO was out of the question as well? :P Nice car though, I really like some of Mitsubishi's designs, this is one of them :)

Um, yeah, the EVO was a little much, although there is a middle-ground with the Ralliart, I should have pushed for that, "It's much safer, it's got all-wheel-drive. What's that sound? Don't worry about that, it's just the turbo."

The dealer didn't have a GTS on hand but they did show me the SE, the next version down, but it's a different car. People told me it's pretty much the same to which I respond, well except the brakes, tires, suspension, engine, styling, seats and interior, you're right they are.
