Yes shock horror the weather was good for us! Which is good considering I DO NOT walk in the rain.

BTW the drive up from here in Devon was 696miles one way which I broke over two days.
But on the way back we went via the MIL in Sheffield and did 710miles which I did in one day in 12 hours
(including stops and the 1 hour powernap I had at the MIL's).
We spent about £300 on petrol in all - blast those pump prices it was £1.32/L in devon but some places
in scotland were selling at £1.46/L (although we hunt around and find it cheaper and never bought on the motorway)
I think it might be cheaper to fly next year!

Lovely, Hanno, and I'm glad you had the weather to go with it! As Spinksy says, it's been truly horrible here for weeks now, and seems to be set to continue.

I've heard about those Scottish midges - apparently they get four times bigger (and more aggressive!) as soon as you cross the border .....

Who's that gorgeous young lady you have with you? Can't possibly be Erin - she's only a baby! :? OMG I must be getting old ... :greyguy:

Yes I feel like that some days, it only seems like yesterday that I was bouncing a baby girl on my knee and playing UT2004!

I've also worked out that based on her current rate of growth she is going to be taller than me by the time shes ten, and I'm not that short!

Well... We let them sort things out for themselves after the 1830s, things have not improved. :P And we still have a direct border with France, so that trick hasn't worked either.

Direct border with france ? :chin: officially it's belgium between "us" and "them" isnt it? (though to be honest whenever dutchies cross a border they tend to act like they own the place anway  )

Yes, it is.... in Europe. :brow: Too late to make it a quiz, I guess. And yes, we do (might have to do with the fact that we've 'owned' a lot of places in the past :P)
