Wednesday Night - Heat (free online Racing) - 30th Oct

The place to talk about any other games that the clan doesn't currently play or just the place to talk about other games in general.

Wednesday Night - Heat (free online Racing) - 30th Oct

Postby [FnG] Hanno » Tue Jun 04, 2013 3:14 pm

Anyone playing any decent racing games at the moment?

Sometimes I have a hankering and since Project Torque dort of turned into something else I've felt the lack.

And I am talking brainless arcade multiplayer more than detailed sim.

That's what Project torque morphed into. Still as a good game, but doesn't work on my laptop anymore
which is a bit of a burger, as we (me, erin, andrea) can't all race at same time.

If this is like a Torque 2.0, this will definitely earn an install on my PC. I'd like to use my Logitech G25 on some other crazy mayhem than Euro Truck Simulator 2.
One more day of work and then a three week vacation where I might try this if the weather takes a turn for the worst.

I liked Dirt 2 as it was a good balance of fun & realism. The online play was OK too, but it won't install under Windows 8 due to DRM. :gripe:

There are rumours of Dirt4 (Dirt3 was crap) but who knows.

So I'm stuck playing "FlatOut:Ultimate Carnage" offline occasionally, until a decent racer comes out.

Heat online has duely been suggested and accepted (at least by Rampy, Me and Eve) for our next Wednesday night game.

Anybody else interested starting next week, wed 28th August 7pm?

Hm, I might give Heat a try as well then. I felt a bit "violated in the backside" by torque when I spent 25 dollars on a team, only to be denied access only a couple of weeks later, because I wasn't located in the US...
With kind regards, Mathijs

I think a lot of people did as well. The game has gone through so many changes due to licensing its silly.
If they had just maintained it as the original it would have been a lot stronger as they wouldn't of lost the player base.
I doubt anybody who was stung before would pay real money for in game goodies now.

I will try to be there this evening with Heat.
Just been on the roof all day, with the sun burning like crazy :panic: I feel a bit toasted.
I have to get up on the roof one more time today, to spray protection-junk on the walls. :skull:
