Starcraft 2

Postby IAmTheRad » Sat May 19, 2007 9:55 am

It's been announced. And I got some links.

http://tinyurl.com/yok7mz <-- gameplay footage

http://media.pc.gamespy.com/media/850/8 ... mgs_1.html <-- screenshots

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUXoekeDIW8 <-- CGI announcement video

http://media.pc.ign.com/media/850/85012 ... 60193.html <-- more screenshots

http://pc.ign.com/articles/788/788627p1.html <-- transcript of events.

http://pc.ign.com/objects/850/850126.html <-- IGN's page

http://www.gamespot.com/news/6171170.ht ... lk=topslot <-- gamespot's take on the annoucement

If you look on the links on the 1st page, the screens there, there's more gameplay footage. The lower ones have gameplay before the main video. I'm sure they'll be on youtube before long.

You also might wanna check up on http://www.starcraft2.com/
Trailers and such can be downloaded from there via the blizzard torrent system. Took me a few mins (likely because most peeps are leeching) but hadn't go any problems besides that.

Now I'm very curious about how this game will come out. I still like the orginal very much. It seems they wont be changing the game too much, it looks more like a huge updated starcraft with upgrade graphics and some new units added. Blizzard also said they would be focusing on the competitive aspect of the franchise so I'm sure those Korean peeps will be happy. Anyway I'll be playing this if I get my hands on it and I sure hope I do :)

Was just about to post this. I've been waiting years for this. Years, about 6 years.

Can't wait. This may be the reason I buy a new computer. I want it to run as smoothly as possible, just like its predecessor.

I think many wont have problems running the new starcraft. Blizzard never was very heavy on system specs.

Speaking of Cow Levels... I want Diablo III...
I know Diablo and even his third cousin twice removed have been defeated two times already... (or six if you played through the games at all difficulties) that doesn't mean you can't make another game... :D

Actually... I saw Smurf play a game quite similar to but clearly more advanced than Diablo 2 a few months ago, when we just moved to the new location. Might ask him what it was...
With kind regards, Mathijs

This is looking sooo good ! Too bad that my brain is not able to handle rts games. (gameplay vids on youtube).

Oh and yes, I hope there will be the same kind of late announcement (I say late because the game looks so achieved already) for Diablo3. I'll buy two copies of D3 blindly the day it comes out.
My sig is in my deleted website, being deleted

Titan quest looks an awful lot like D. II but it's got Greek mythology and 3D graphs and 'realistic' *coughs* physics.
