The Crysis SP demo is here!

The place to talk about any other games that the clan doesn't currently play or just the place to talk about other games in general.

:) Wow... Crysis works quite well on my ageing Athlon 64 single core @2GHz... Well, it does have an ATI Radeon X1950 pro to boost things, but that's (only) an AGP... On the other hand, that shouldn't make too much of a difference.. The 2.5 GB of ram helps, I guess... :)
With kind regards, Mathijs

Just a shout to all nVidia people -- Splodey tipped me off last night to some "official beta" drivers, v. 169.01, nVidia put out just in time for the Crysis demo. Some nVidia cards run 2 fps with the latest official drivers, and ~80 fps with 169.01.

For me, I have the drivers installed and the demo D/L'ed ... hopefully will give it a try later this week.

Im not that bothered about single player games,
as usually they are too structured force you to walk a specific path.

This wasnt that bad though and I liked all the suit ability
grpahic very nice BUT the best bit >

Standing on the top of a cliff
Sneak up with invis to bad guy
Grab bad guy by the throat
Switch to strength
Throw bad guy over edge
Switch to shot gun
Blast Bad guy as he's flying through the air

Brings back my days of being a clay pigeon shooting champ....

Good laugh. Shame this and UT are released so close together
as I cant really afford both though :-(

Haha, this game is so much fun. I had an epic stealth mission just recently; i was sneaking along in the grass with my cloak on and didnt notice this north korean patrol before they were litterally walking atop of my head.
I quickly jumped up, grabbed the closest one by the neck, enabled super strenght, and tossed him so hard into his other buddy that both died/Fell unconscious.

I loved it but am such a pansy with these games I spent most of my time either cloaked then taking the occasional super safe headshot, or just rushing them with max armour, or running people over, hardly used the streanght thing, I need to config the keys better to speed things up, I cant afford this and UT3 but Ireally want to.

Going stealth is more awesome than going in guns blazing. You can do that in UT and over 100 other fps games. Thw whole stealth suit concept is pretty new, and refreshing.

it rocks for sure, pop into stealth, get near a car... recharge, go strength and hit it sideways... wooh 8)

Offcourse you could also just shoot them and run down a building or two with it - aaah, endless possibilities 8) (tough a bit more linear so far then expected)
